The Stony Plain United Church is more than a place for Sunday Services. It is also a gathering place in our community.
The church facilities are used by local groups such as the Girl Guides and Al-Anon because it is central in the town and has the ability to accommodate their groups. When you walk in the door. you will find yourself in the Atrium, with benches, boot and coat racks. From here, you can access the various areas of the church. There are bathrooms located upstairs and down stairs on both the east and west sides. There are ramps and an elevator for wheelchair access throughout the building.
On many evenings, you may find our lights on and our doors open for a concert, committee meetings, dinners, weddings, and so on.
If you or your organization require a facility to use, either for a onetime event or for regular meetings, you might find we have what you need.

Stewards
The Stewards committee are the financial centre of the church. Member donations, expenditures, etc. are all tracked by the Stewards. This includes special donations, project cost planning and bequest planning. Stewards may be contacted through the church office or by the email below.
The Catering Committee can provide event support in our facilities using our well equipped commercial kitchen.
They can prepare full meals or appetizers for your events - wedding receptions, funerals, birthdays, anniversaries.
We can seat over 200 in the Holborn Room under our sanctuary. We have restaurant grade china and cutlery. There are adjoining areas for even more seating.

Ukuleles – If you drop by Stony Plain United Church Wednesday evenings you will hear the melodious sounds of ukuleles. Since 2014 a group of music loving strummers have gathered to play. They are a group that are affectionately called the Stony Sacred Strings and are often heard performing musical numbers during worship services. They have also provided music at special events, including accompanying a singalong at our annual Christmas presentation. They don’t just learn to play hymns and gospel music, but have learned a wide variety of music from Elvis to folk to country! The group welcomes everyone to join them. They meet Wednesdays at 6:15 to 7:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary. You do not have to be an experienced player, even if you are interested in trying this out – come on down. We can even lend you a ukulele!
